An Invitation for Project Ideas/Posters/Papers
The first Research Cafe in Paris in May 2007, continued a process that had started with three workshops in London, looking at possible joint projects. This Research Cafe on 21st September 2007, was part of a 2-day event, following Workshop IV on Collective Decision-Making with Charles Faulkner, on the 20th September. The series of Research Cafe will continue around Europe. The Paris and London ones are therefore part of a longer-term process to facilitate the exploration of national and/or joint European projects. SoL members and others were invited to submit their ideas and proposals for projects on collective decision-making, as follows:
- A short one-page description of an idea or a project, you or your group are working on. Short descriptions will be published as part of the workshop proceedings, in advance of the workshop.
- Abstract not to exceed 4 pages of A4 (minimum font size 12). Abstracts will be published as part of the workshop proceedings, in advance of the workshop.
- A paper or proposal not to exceed 5,000 words on a project idea. To include background, objectives, methodology, outcomes.
- A one-page poster to be on display during the 20 September Workshop and the 21 September Research Café. Posters may be related to abstracts or papers. A suggested format for the poster is attached below that you may find helpful.
Papers, short descriptions and abstracts are posted on a special website linked to www.sol-uk.org

Everyone, including participants from industry, business, the public sector, consultancy and academia were invited to participate and to send in a project idea linked to collective decision-making. A List of Participants is attached. The process allowed for discussion of projects in small groups, to explore the possibility of extending them to other European SoLs. It also emphasised reflection and learning.
